I have an Epson perfection 4180 photo scanner and have successfully scanned old negatives and transferred them onto my Mac.
Now I have hundreds of old colour slides and want to transfer them to my Mac too so I can catalogue them before creating a sales publication. What I would like to know is can I do this or do I need something else for colour slides?
I Can't experiment at the moment as I don't have the lead from the scanner to the Mac and I need to refresh my memory on how to do this before I begin. Any info welcomed. Thanks.

If you click to download the product brochure, have you still got the slide scanning utility

Yes, it should be fine - you just need one less step, as you don't need to "invert" it in the way that you would with a negative.
I'm not familiar with that particular scanner, but most come with utility software that should make the process easy.0 -

I don't know if I have this utility. There is a removable screen built into the back of lid and I seem to remember removing this when scanning b/w negatives a few years ago. Is this what you refer to?0 -
From the brochure it is a strip with four places for slides
The brochure is a 138KB download0 -

Thanks for that. Yes thats right. Its a slide holder. Haven't got one yet. Am looking out for one but did the job without one yesterday and it took an hour to scan and file 10 slides. Too slow for my liking. There's gotta be another way or device as I have to produce a publication and catalogue around 2000 slides!0
