ESA Backdated after Assessment Phase?

Hi everyone.
My claim for ESA began on 9 July 2011. I am due to have my Medical Assessment with ATOS on 21st November.
I hit the 13 week point on 8 October so will I due any backdated benefit if I pass the medical?
I'm still on £67.50 a week at the moment, but for example, if I had been assessed at the 13 week point, passed and placed in the Work Related Activity Group, my money would have gone up to £94.25, a difference of £26.75.
Will that £26.75 be backdated to 13 October?
Many thanks.

Simple answer yes... while you might not be assessed after '3 months' precisely, the award will apply from the beginning of week 14 as far as monies are concerned and they should backdate. If you fail the WCA and successfully appeal later the same would be true regarding backdating to beginning week 14."Do not attribute to conspiracy what can adequately be explained by incompetence" - rogerblack0 -

The support and WRAG components kick in after the 13th week of the claim.
One thing to note is that if you apply for ESA, backdated with a medical note to 3 months (the limit) before ESA, you may get the initial lump sum of assessment rate up-front (13 weeks), then when you're granted ESA, the WRAG or support compoents back to the date you applied for ESA.
(this would only be the case for people who have not been working, and living off savings, if you've had income in the period, it's not the case).0 -
Many thanks to both of you. Your replies are much appreciated and have helped ease some concerns.0
