Humax PVR9150T-G not automatically updating

I have the above which is not updating either automatically over air or when I try to update directly from the PVR. I have tried to contact Humax, by email, without any success (I wont phone an 0870 or 0844 etc. number as it costs me too much money). I phoned their sales office this morning and they hung up on me. (Good service, eh).

Does anyone have any suggestions? The only thing I can think to do is a format but I have quite a bit recorded and not enough time to watch all of it now.

Hi,
Have you tried doing a factory reset? This will reset the box but not wipe your recorded programmes. Make a note of which programmes you have scheduled to record as you will need to set these up again afterwards. MENU-INSTALLATION-DEFAULT SETTING (the password by default is 0000).
This will reset the box, then rescan for channels.
Try checking for updates once this is all done.

Sorry for this but I have to ask the question: Are you sure there is an update available for your machine?

There probably isnt any update being broadcast for this model at the moment, but if you really want or need to update it, you can download the latest firmware and update software from the Humax website, and then send that to the box using a pc and a serial lead, lot of messing about though if it doesnt need doing.

What version of the software=firmware do you actually have installed on the PVR?

Updates are very rare now since the box has been out for years. My PVR9300T has Software Version UPTTF 1.00.26 (Jul 7 2011), and the update before that was 15 months prior, in March 2010.
