Flights to Orlando

Just seen this article in the Sunday Times Travel Mag and thought it could be useful to someone.

FLYWHO.COM (charter airline) offer flights to Florida (st petersburg, orlando and ft lauderdale) from Birmingham with a massive 38inch seat pitch for economy or 45inch premium economy with leather seats and seat back telly.

Not sure about prices and how they compare but could be useful if you look for seat pitch before booking.

Just had a quick look and put in the rough times we are flying to Florida in July. Heck of a price to pay for 38" seat pitch and it does only say in the rear cabin? Not sure which is Gold, Silver or sit with the captain

Gold cabin is £2112 for two adults, Silver is £1432 and one way Silver, one way gold is £1752  Birmingham won't suit me so I'll stick with my 34" seat pitch at around £1000.

Just read on a bit more and the Silver is the 38" seat pitch and Gold is 45", probably the captain is squashed up in 28" seat pitch :rotfl:

All looks very nice if you have the money to spend :D

Does anyone know what is happening with Flywho. The should have started in 2005, then the date was put back to late 2005, then it was changed again to 8 July 2006 from Birmingham to Orlando. This does not seem to have happened and their site https://www.flywho.com drop down box says the flights can be booked from October. I have booked on 2 November 2006 but do not know if that will happen. I am awaiting word from the company after I emailed them.

Does anyone suggest what I do next. Do I book another airline if they do not confirm the flight, and even if they do, it still may not happen! Or do I wait until 2 November and if it does not go, try to get my money back from ATOl and try elsewhere?

    Any advice would be appreciated:T

The last email from them dated 14 August stated:

We have every reason to expect your flights to operate to plan exactly as sold to you and we see no reasons for concern at our end.

We fully understand your concerns but I have raised your question with our CEO who assures me that all aspects of the programme are on schedule and therefore we are not cancelling your flight and as such the matter of an alternate carrier does not arise.

Our excellent airbus will be with us in time to commence service for October 14th, we do hope we are able to a allay your fears for your dates.

    All the best

I continue to be amazed by the lack of publicity and the lack of information on their web site. As we are due to fly on 2 November, watch this space.

  • Reminds me of the Backpackers Xpress, cheap 747's to fly to the Far East and Australia, with full bar, music, aimed at budget travellers.
Spent a fortune on advertising, never made a flight, website just disappeared.
