Its been almost 2 weeks since I sent the agreement back and as yet I have not received anything from the LA.
I hope I'm not going to receive a letter giving me notice :eek:0 -
They may have it at the office waiting for you to pick up. They are probably waiting for you to call them. Telephone calls and postage cost money. Turn about is fair play, I guess.

Double checked my paperwork and I definitely have no piece of paper with S21 on it so it looks like I haven't been served with one.
I've sent the signed piece of paper/new tenancy agreement back today with a covering letter saying I'm not paying it and that there is no mention of this fee in the orignal tenancy agreement. I have also pointed out that we have been good tenants in the two years we have lived at the property as our rent is always paid on time and we have always made arrangements to be in attendance when they do their quarterly check. We shall see what their reply is!
Thanks for all your help. :rotfl:
My personal experience was to tell the agent that I wanted to live indefinive, this way there is no contract but an extention of the initial contract and either me or the LR most give 1 month notice before ending the agreenment.
Because their is no new contract, Agent could not charge me again.
You may try this option, or if you want to sign a contract and are force to pay the £70 at least due for longer 2-3 years, This fee may not be in the contract but is a standar agent fee, so they my be able to force you to pay. don't know, good luck anyway0 -
i agree that £70 is a lot - but all future Tenancy Agreements will need to be amended as the final stage of the 2004 housing act (the tenants deposit scheme) comes into force on April 1st, and any deposits taken from that date onwards are subject to different regulations.
May i suggest that you ask them what are their plans for the Tenants Deposits under the new legislation when you come to renew next time ?
If they don't know what you are talking about - they don;t know what they are doing !!0
