Solar lights

I bought 8 solar lights for my front garden in the summer, originally only 7 worked and this evening I noted it is down to just one :(. I don't think the cause is a lack of sunlight, as I have a west facing aspect and it has been unseasonably bright and warm for November. What could be the cause and how can I fix it?

Have searched previous threads, responses to solar light qs are limited but it would be great if someone has an MSE answer!

You can often taken batteries out and charge them in right charger making sure if its nicad or nimh and right charger. If they charge up okay and it still doesnt work the lights maybe gone. You can buy replacement batteries. They dont last all that long solar lights around 2 years tops as they come on and go off all time but as you haven't had them long it could be the lights or batteries

I have two lots in my garden the string type and I am lucky now to get a couple of hours usage one is south

Also worth checking the battery as I've had some in the past where water/condensation has got into the battery compartment and the battery and contacts have corroded.

These solar lights are rubbish, made of cheese and never last. I would throw them out!

I'd agree with that, they are only ever good for one season ie summer and any more is a bonus.

Incidentally, how much did you pay for them?

My four cost about £2 and I got my money's worth :D

Cheap rubbish batteries? I found the batteries in mine said 800 mAh but they were so light i doubt there
was much of anything inside them.

The batteries out the cordless phone was almost double the weight, And the 900 mAh ones were even heavier.

Bought some cheap rechargeable batteries from the £1 shop, Some were OK others were rubbish.

I'm not keen on anything disposable, but now my flowers are finally blooming I'd like to know if anything has improved over the past year? Or do I stick to the 99p shop / Wilko?
