the least bother reply would be to say google the "scripts name" + tutorials + free eg http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&safe=off&rls=GGIC%2CGGIC%3A2006-36%2CGGIC%3Aen&q=php+tutorials+free&meta=
or generic http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&safe=off&rls=GGIC%2CGGIC%3A2006-36%2CGGIC%3Aen&q=script++tutorials+free&meta=
And pick a style of writing you like and can learn from

Thanks! One last thing could I pick any 'writing script language' ? I have a program that was made by our wholesaler and I just wanna improve a few bits... For example it mentions Javascript could I learn this and change my prog? I don't know if some are for certain types etc.
Cheers
Also any recommendations over one another?Help me to help you :santa2:0 -
A website can be written in several languages. As you say, each has its own purpose and they can be combined to produce the finished article.
You need to know which language which parts of the site are written in to change them (obviously). Sometimes, the file extension can help with this. For example, a filename ending in .htm or .html is most likely written in HTML (but can contain scripts written in Javascript, PHP etc.). An extension of .php indicates a PHP written document (but again it can contain other languages at the same time).
Where one language is used within another, there is usually an indicator in the code that starts and ends the part written in that language. So, for example, in an HTML document a piece written in PHP would begin with
<?php
and end with
?>
So you may have to learn 2 or 3 languages in order to make changes.
Alternatively, learn a couple of languages and rewrite sections at a time in whatever languages you choose.0 -

But everyone learns from questions that others ask.0 -
ah it isn't for a website. This editing is for a program a wholesaler has made, I wanted to amend program in various different ways for example with certain prices I wanted it to automatically round up to 99p. Someone helped me make a program which added a percentage which I could choose, I would also like to add 10% and have it rounding up to 99p. Anyone interested ? lol I could e-mail the script I have and if anyone suggests a language to learn for this particular one.

Ah - sorry. I thought it was an online program within a website.
Yes, maybe a sample of code would help identify the program/language.
Or, how do you run the program? Does it start automatically with Windows, do you click an icon on your Desktop? Again, the file extension of the file that runs could give a clue.0 -
I run the program by double clicking on the icon, you can see all about it on this website

The program appears to be a compiled Windows Application. There may be configuration files or scripts that you can amend to achieve what you want. Instructions for these should be provided by the software supplier.
It is highly unlikley you will get the source code for the actual application if it's a commerical product. If it's been custom written for you, it's possible you may be able to get the source, however it would require knowledge of VB, C++ or whatever language was used. If you aren't comfortable with coding, you may find it a challenging task even making small changes.0
