Micra wheel nut broken
Hi I have a slight problem when changing the tyre on my nissan micra one of the wheel nuts wouldn't come off so the man who was taking it off forced and we noticed underneath that the screw bit was stripped and had no thread. So now I only have three wheel nuts instead of the four holding the wheel on. I was told it was safe to drive like this but need to get it fixed. Does anyone know where or how to fix this? A man at the wheel place said its best to take it to nissan as they will need to remove the whole wheel hub or something to fix it- this sounds expensive.
Hope someone can help sorry Im not good at explaining.
Thanks

yeah its likely to cost a bit...you didnt say front or rear or the age , but it will need a replacement hub or rear drum0

It may be they just need to replace the stud (the screw bit), in which case they would need to remove the hub to press the old stud out and the new one in. I can't be sure, but that may well be cheaper than a whole hub. They've got to remove the hub either way, and I would think with a hydraulic press it's only a few minutes to replace the stud. Worth asking them anyway.
And I personally would be a bit careful about driving a car with with a wheel nut missing - not too fast and no hard cornering . Good luck.Favours are returned ... Trust is earned

Are they nuts or bolts?
Most cars have bolts.
They can be teased out but it can be time consuming.Happy chappy0
