Gas usage - any estimates??

Just moving to a 3 bed semi with gas central htg & hot water(pressurised closed system) and electric cooker. Does anyone have any idea on likely gas consumption?? Obviously ball park assuming 'normal' use. In KWh or cubic mts/hr. I've never had gas before and can't work out the best deal without some sort of useage estimate.

TBH, over quite a wide usage range comparison order doesn't change (much) because other non-usage factors* "conspire" to produce the listing order. However "average" use is 16,500 kWhrs for gas and 3,300 kWhrs for electricity.

*initial discount on a "guaranteed discount" tariff
and/or "deferred discount":eek: on "deferred discount":eek: tariffs.

Beware "deferred discount":eek: tariffs if you do not understand the circumstances you might forfeit the "deferred discount":eek:.

The 16,500Kw figure is the "average" that's used when the media publish figures of what families are paying a year, but like all averages drawn over a big field the figures are nonsense
The 'Average' house price at the moment is £165k !

Build quality, Type, Age, Location and Lifestyle all have a big effect on Utility bills - Take a hard look at the insulation qualites in this house - I have a relative who bought a Terraced 1960's 3 bed which burned 18,000kw of Gas in the first year, then with decent D/Glazing, Cavity Wall insulation and really thick Loft insulation, the Gas consumption dropped to 9,700Kw a year
