YouGov

I just wanted to report what happened to me today and warn others about it.
I have been a panel member at YouGov since mid 2009. You do te They clearly stated atheir surveys for which you earn points and then can change points for cash. At the time they clearly stated that they only pay out when 5000 points is reached. But what they didn't say was how long it takes to get to 5000. Anyway, after 2.5 years I have reached 4400 points. Or so I thought the last time I checked!
They have launced a new feature and changed their website. I received an invite to a survey in exchange for entry into prize draw. What they didn't mention is that in exchange for their prize draw they deduct points from your total, and 500 at that!!!!
I know some of you may think this is a petty complaint in the scheme of things, but when you have spent a lot of time and waited years to be rewarded, it is galling to see how they cheat and steal to set you back.
I am also certain that their prize draw does not exist. They just scam in any way possible to delay payment.
In any case, long ago I decided that the only way to get my own back is to not answer their surveys honestly. I mean why should I when they don't pay out and use every trick in the book not to pay.

It's only 50 points as far as I can see and it's explained clearly. You just need to read the whole thing!0

Alas some people can't be bothered to read things correctly and for some unbeknown reason choose to vent their spleen on here in an attempt to garner some unwarrented sympathy0

25 Prize Draw Entries
25 points
50 Prize Draw Entries
50 points
£50
5,000 points
Don't know where the 500 points came from.
Remember some surveys are automatically redeemed for prize draws or you can choose prize entries instead of points at the end of each survey.

I have received several of those prize draw invites and it has always clearly stated that you are paying for the prize draw entry with your points. There is a "no thanks" button too.0 -
As I said, they deducted 500 points. I have emailed them about it but haven't heard back.
My main gripe with YouGov is that it takes years for them to pay out a penny for the work that people do for them. They get away with this because they calculate that once people start doing surveys then they have them by the goolies. There is no way I am going to stop now after all the work I have put in. I WILL see that cheque, even if I am an OAP by then.
Also, do any of you seriously believe there is a prize draw? Do you know anyone that has ever won? I mean come on? Do you also believe in the tooth fairy?0 -
Sounds like you need to see what they say in response to your email. Sounds like they've made a mistake.
Obviously if it's been a few days and you haven't heard anything then email them again.0 -
They used to publicise the prize draw winners. Last draw showing was August on the original site.
Don't know about Sept or Oct. Can't see a list of either on the new site.
I suppose winners would have bee informed by now for Sept and Oct around now0 -
Has the 500 points gone in one deduction or is it several different ones?.The surveys which state are prize draws (usually start ORA then a number) show up as being paid 50 points, then the next entry on the statement shows 50 points deducted for the prize draw.Hence cancelling each other out.A bit confusing when you first see points have been taken away.0

There is nothing about 500 points in the list. All I know is I had 4400 points and now have 3900 and they don't respond to queries.
Wouldn't you be angry?0 -
When and how have you contacted them?0
