Just an observation to all renters and stay at mummy's home man-babies.0

Anyone read the article?
Would telling nimby's to shut it (they won't), taxing BTL more (adding upward pressure to renters), taxing landbanks (adding upwards pressure to buyers), forcing private companies to sell a product at the price a buyer demands (it's getting silly now) clear up the confusion about planning, sort the mortgage market or improve the economy? Hmm.
Might make a few disgruntled armchair economists feel a bit better though.
And your proposal or suggestion is?0 -
Are small independent builders going to sell a house for less than it's market value just because it, apparently, costs them less to build.
Can you define market value?
I don't think market value is homes too costly to buy and need dodgy schemes such as shared ownership/equity to by and are 30% more than existing properties with better dimensions/quality/gardens.
Market value is what people will buy at and new builds without dodgy schemes are hardly selling or they would build more.:exclamatiScams - Shared Equity, Shared Ownership, Newbuy, Firstbuy and Help to Buy.

What about modular homes created from interlocking container crates, made in China. There may be an overall 'boxy' look but they would be affordable.

To look at the bigger picture and worry about the general economy instead. That and trying to take costs out of housing whether it's renters or buyers.0 -

That's a pretty vague answer.
You want to, and indeed did, call me an armchair economist for putting reasons behind my thoughts.
Surely you can do better than an armchair economist and give proposals or solutions to house building levels. Something a bit more robust than a vague "concentrate on the economy" as if that will fix all affordability, land value, lending and house building problems "just like that".0 -

So Wotsthat why are newbuilds without dodgy schemes not selling if not above market value?Experts blamed confusion over the Government's new planning laws, the difficult mortgage market and the overall state of the economy for the lack of building.
I've just bought a newbuild without a dodgy scheme BTW.0
