Well my mother has just applied for a MBNA Credit Card, she went through the application and it said congrations you have been accepted your credit limit is £

Then nothing, it didnt say anything else, apart from you will get your card within 7 - 10 days we will email you a copy of blah blah blah, well still no email or anything. Just seems strange it didnt give a limit or anything, is ths usual for MBNA

Could be - I thought as they were pulling out of the UK credit card market that any MBNA branded cards were no longer available to apply for?

Its one of there partner cards, which you can still apply for on there website.

I applied for a virgin supper balance transfer card, issued by MBNA . Siad they would contact me in 48 hours. Still waiting. I called up and was told my limit etc and told that they (virgin) were have issues emailing the credit agreements but should be sorted in a few days.

When my mother applied for an MBNA card the limit was confirmed in an email about 10 days later; although her application was referred, not instantly approved.

She can always call them up to ensure the application went through OK and ask what her limit is
