in Credit cards
Has anyone seen the new Credit Expert?
They've totally changed the way they calculate their score and the way they advise you what is good and bad about it.
For example, and much more helpfully than before, Credit Expert states that my OH's credit file is:
Good - because
"Your borrowing on revolving credit has reduced over the last 12 months"
"You have a significant amount of successfully settled non-mail order account"
Bad - because
"You have an account regarded as defaulted or delinquent"
"You have recently opened 1 or more new credit accounts."
"You have a significant number of recent searches on your credit report"
"The usage of your available credit indicates a higher risk"
Three of those "Bads" are there due to him having Applied for a couple of BT cards and one has just appeared on his file today with a high debt to limit ratio.
Whilst the score itself is probably useless, the guidance Credit Expert now provide around this is, in my opinion, excellent.
Now, to see what it says about me...

oh dear, you been drinking to let him purchase a score?Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

No, because Credit Expert don't charge for a score. They include it in the subscription. Have for some time now, actually.
Don't you worry, we're far to savvy in this household to pay for meaningless scores! Lol, that would make me a right hypocrite wouldn't it? :rotfl:Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

The only score that matters in this world is football and a Friday night if your lucky
I've seen perfect scores and people turned down for credit and low scores and people accepted but its the company you apply for that gives you a score then they check your credit file to make sure you don't have any nasties.
If your credit file is clean then you get the green if your credit file is red then your going to say Oh Smegg o0I'm not poor i'm just skint0 -
How much are you paying per month to have your score included with your subscription?
I pay £6.99 per month but that does not include any lottery number suggestions;)0 -
Did anyone read my OP?
1. I don't pay for scores - they come free with my subscription which Experian reduced to £6 or £7 a month when I called to cancel
2. I'm not taking about the SCORE but the ADVICE you get with it. I know as well as everyone else the NUMBER is useless - right now is says I'm "902 - Good" despite having a BR order on my file.
But the ADVICE - VERY USEFUL.
It states my score has recently increased because I no longer have any recently opened accounts - which is correct - recently opened accounts do have the potential to affect your credit worthiness dependant on other factors and it is good that Credit Expert share this fact with it's customers, as they may not know otherwise.
It's the WORDING against the score I'm bigging up as it offers much better advice than simply reading the account information on your credit file could provide.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

Hi, I'm new on here but am looking for advice.....
I've signed upto Credit Expert and it brought up the following negative factors..:
You have an account regarded as defaulted or delinquent
You have no successfully settled non-mail order accounts.
The usage of your available credit indicates a higher risk
The value of your highest credit limit indicates a higher risk.
The default is a debt with Barclays which even though i kept them informed of all address changes, still failed to notify me of it. Its now cleared but still not showing as Satisfactory.
What im really asking is what are non-mail order accounts as i appear to be lacking any and also what else can i do to improve my rating? Am looking to apply for a mortgage next year so any positive impacts on rating would be appreciated.
Many thanks0 -
i got a few wonga loans, which count as non-mail order accounts. unfortunately i ended up with about ten wonga loans, all for small amounts. although wonga is bad, my experian file now gives me kudos for having 'a substancial amount of settled non-mail order accounts'
it was these that dragged me from very poor to poor and allowed me to get a rebuilder card that has seen my file rise from the grave.0 -
