Most people don't. The dumbasses seem to think that the agency should charge no more than £1/hr more than they're paying the agency staff even though that doesn't even cover holiday pay and employers NI, let alone the typical £250k bill to run a single office.0 -

Spot on. For some reason recruitment is the only industry I can think of which people begrudge for their margin!0 -
they are by avoiding the 12 week rule for casuals
How are they avoiding the 12 week rule? They cannot avoid the 12 week rule whether its direct or through their own in house agency.
I notice in your sig you're an ex-postie. Any other lies you've been told by your union which you want to state is fact in this respect?0 -

thats quite a statement to make.
so you are fully aware of whats going on in RM and I as a lowly simpleton worker have no ability to for an opinion it seems.
why dont you tell it all for us0 -
Unfortunately this is what agencies do.
They would have got your daughter to sign a contract no doubt and that would say what the minimum hourly rate they will pay. So saying if £6.50 was the rate she was quoted for the role then IMO they should stick to that, especially when they are getting quite a bit more.
Hammyman, everyone knows that they agencies charge a lot extra to what they pay their temps. I did a role one time where I actually entered their invoice on the system so I saw the difference between what they were paying me per hour and what they were getting per hour and they wouldn't give a measly 50p more!0 -
It's nothing in agencies - try working in a large law firm or consultancy. You get charged out at a few hundred pounds an hour and are lucky to get paid that in a day.
As a trainee lawyer my wife was charged out at £200 an hour to clients :eek:Thinking critically since 1996....0 -

True they use people for a service and the employer pays the related costs as an invoice not as a salary. So they can swoop and change when they want lol.The harder one works the luckier one gets!0 -
And your point is? What the agency are charging their client is none of your or your daughters business.
My point is , there is a set minimum wage for under 21s BUT not a set maximum wage , so why are Manpower paying the absolute minimum they have to, when charging RM the same as a over 21 year old who is doing the exact same job. And I do realise agencies have to make a profit .but feel they are taking the P big time. I am a postie who works at the same office as my daughter, in a 24 hour period we often have 30 + agency staff in. 95% will be under 21s [ we live in a university town] . Because of your very negative replies to my thread , I. presume you work in a recruitment agency.0 -

Hilarious - because someone disagrees with you they must work for a recruitment agency! :rotfl:0
