exploitation by manpower

my daughter is employed by manpower to work for royal mail. she was told she would be paid 6.50 an hour. {working night shift 22.00 -06.00] After 1st week pay reduced to 5.50 an hour. the reason for this being 18 years old, so are paying her 4,95 minimum wage plus 55 pence for working nights. But they are still charging royal mail full agency fee of over 11 pounds an hour, the same as if she was over 21. Shame on you manpower, how many more young people and companies are you ripping off.

I'm guessing you don't understand how agencies work?

Usually 30% + VAT, not that it prevents them having a larger margin though.

Yep, the only mistake Manpower have made is letting on how much they are being paid! ;)

rm stopped using manpower more or less, they'll be saving money with their own agency. might be an idea to join them/see if they have anything available https://rmg.i-grasp.com/fe/angard.asp

ANGARD now the agency handling all RM casual vacancies. My casual contract with RM was taken over by Angard in September. My pay for nights dropped from £5.95 PH with £1.76PH night shift allowance to £6.08 and 50pPH night allowance.

I lose over £14 per shift......

Oh did I mention Angard ARE OWNED BY ROYAL MAIL and this change was brought about to get around the new EU working agreements.

Angard are not very good at communication, paying you and getting you work. I only put up with it as I need the money and its better than JSA BUT I STILL FEEL EXPLOITED.

RM own the agency that pay your wages for working at RM?

Has this ever been tested in court as to RM actually being the employer. Disappointing if a company can get round providing proper employment benefits this way.

And your point is? What the agency are charging their client is none of your or your daughters business.

They aren't getting around paying any employment benefits.
