Is there anything I can do about this?

OK, please don't jump on me for what I'm about to write, I'm not after "something for nothing" I'm just really annoyed right now and wondered if there's anything I can do.

In about 2004 I bought a Braun Multiquick hand blender from John Lewis. It got used once and was promptly put back in it's box and forgotten about!

I dug it out again a few years ago to blend some Pumpkin soup and have used it every October 31st since then. Seriously, that's it, that's all I've ever used it for! I reckon it's had about 2 hours of use!

I used it on Saturday and it was making some odd noises, but seemed OK. Today I was using it again and it went pfft and died. :(

Now, I know it's outside of "reasonable time" in regards to how long I've owned it, but, as I say, I've only actually used it a handful of times. The blasted thing cost be almost £100 so you can see why I might be a bit miffed!

Do I have any rights now or is it a matter of tough luck? (I'm suspecting the latter!) I've still got the box and everything! :D

Just thought I'd ask as it's really bothering me that I've got to fork out for a new one when I've used this one so little. I think I'll get a Tesco special next time; loosing £4.19 is a lot easier to swallow than £100! :rotfl:

The quick answer is to go buy the Tesco special. You could tell your sob story to Braun, they might take pity and send you a money off voucher but don't bank on it.

If you only use one once a year for pumpkin soup save your self some money and pass it through a sieve cheaper than buying a new blender for once a year use.

But can you prove you only used it one day a year.

It wasn't "lying in storage" it was in the box with all the other accessories!

You know what, forget it. I was only asking for advice, not !!!!ing stupid comments. Sob story?! I was only asking if it was worth doing anything! I even prefaced the question with "don't jump on me" and you did!

People seem to forget this is the moneySAVINGexpert site. Asking for a bit of advice seem to be frowned upon here.

Screw it, I'm done with this place.

    .

As does hearing advice that you didn't want to hear. You've totally over reacted to what seemed to be a fairly reasonable reply from bris there. Still, if you're done with this place, I suspect its no great loss on either side.

I don't post sarcastic remarks very often but I feel I need to say this.

If it's moneySAVINGexpert, my tip is not to spend £100 on a blender you use once a year. I mean seriously:eek:
I get what i want. That isn't because i'm a brat or spoilt. It's because i'm determined, i work hard for it and i achieve my goals!
