Advice for technophobe needed please!

Bought new computer and my son-in-law stripped my old lappy down and I sold the components on eBay to go towards the cost of the new pooter. Still got a couple of bits and pieces left plus the casing. Is it worth trying to sell casing on eBay? Not sure what the odds and ends that are left are, would have to ask SIL but I've heard that people buy old casings and build new lappys etc. Would I be wasting my time d'yer think?

Many thanks!
