Powerpoint presentation wont open.

Daughter put her Powerpoint project onto a usb drive and brought it home to finish.
It wont open and throws up a box that says 'Powerpoint found a problem' and then gives the option to repair or cancel.
Clicking repair makes no difference.
The original file was created under an older version of PP 97-03, I have 2010, would this make any difference?

2010 Should still open the older versions, however it sounds like the file could be corrupt.
Theres a few options here you can try.

Ah, what's being described in the link is exactly what I am experiencing. None of the options are helping unfortunately.
