Hi guys
My husband took out PPI when we ordered sofas from DFS back in 2007 as the company strongly advised us to do so as we had no other PPI else where. My husband at that point was in full-time employement.
Since then my husband has had several other jobs, his latest of which was with a recruitment agency working as warehouse operative. He was working under the basis that he was employed until further notice but would only be given hours when they had work going. He was working for them for 5 months and was only dismissed due to him developing carpal tunnel syndrome and his employer not wishing to wait long enough for him to receive treatment for it - they wanted his performance up within a week or else he'd recieve the boot. Unfortunately he was sacked a week later.
My brother works for them on the same contract my husband was working for them on and he's been with them for over a year!
We put in a claim with Hitachi Capital, who the finance is done with DFS for, and part of the form required to be filled in by his previous employer. His previous employer marked "temporary" as employment status and they turned our claim down.
What I would like to know is if you think it would be worth us trying to claim for mis-sold PPI? We were under the impression that as long as he wasn't employed for a fixed term or short period of time that we would be covered but apparently not.
Thank you in advance.

Hi there
It seems like you may have a case here, its worthless to you and they did not pay out on a claim, and if you had known of this when the policy was taken out then I'm sure you would have said no to the policy.
However, as DFS also strongly said about taking this out as you had no ppi elsewhere, this is more or less being pressurised.
To make a reclaim, you pursue DFS, head office or complaints by completing a reclaim questionnaire on step 3 below and send, remember to save copies as well, good luck.

Thank you for replying. Do I just send the questionnaire on it's own or should I include a covering letter? Also is it DFS I send it to or the company they finance through, Hitachi Capital?November Grocery Challenge - £300 - Total so far £0.000
