Friend of mine has just upgraded from a 3GS to the 4S, and upon setting up its asking to whether set up as new iPhone or restore from icloud (which he doesn't have yet) or restore from backup from iTunes?
Should it be setup as new or restored as we're not sure which is best!

If he wants it set up like his old phone then restore it from the itunes backup. That will put on all his contacts, texts etc etc.
If he wants to start afresh then just set it up as new.0 -
Just be aware that if they were using any of the old mobile.me services on his old phone some people have reported problem with battery life when restoring to an iOS5 phone (of any model) due to some issue with the conversion from mobile.me to iCloud0
