As a conveyancing solicitor ( http://www.rwco.co.uk I wouldn't want to comment specifically on the Abbey but I can say in general terms that this is the sort of grief solicitors sometimes go through and tear their hair out with lender bureaucracy.
I don't know whether I would have seen this coming, but sometimes we can see problems coming and clients don't believe us when we describe the possible hassles that you have actually gone through!
By the way, how did Abbey find out the boundaries had changed?
Also, the other people were unwise to exchange if you couldn't! Trouble is that people get so set on these completion dates and they make all their arrangements and then can't unscramble them so they go ahead and hope it all comes right.RICHARD WEBSTER
