Housing benefit going down, how will I manage?

Your fraud plan is a little flawed. If she signs over the CB to him so he can claim HB for a 2 bed, then how exactly does the PWC claim her 2 bed? Also once the CB is signed over to him then she would be legally obliged to pay child support to him even though he isn't the main carer. Can o worms leading to a pile of poo. Bad advice.fluffymovie wrote: »Could I ask, is her mum on benefits? If not, would she be willing to sign over the Child Benefit to you as this would entitle you to the 2bed rate? If needed, you could give her the money in cash so she isn't out of pocket?I made a mistake once, believeing people on the internet were my virtual friends. It won't be a mistake that I make again!0 -

It's not "benefit planning" at all. It's presenting your personal circumstances in such a way as to access benefits which your actual circumstances would not allow. If that isn't a definition of fraud in the eyes of the benefits bods, then it's no wonder the system has become synonymous with abuse.0

I have to say that I am amazed by this. A benefit fraud officer has stated that signing CB over to a NRP (and giving the cash back to the PWC) even when he isn't the main carer just to secure housing entitlement isn't fraud and they won't be prosecuted for it, really leaves me speechless.fluffymovie wrote: »I did and he said it wouldn't be something prosecution would be considered for.I made a mistake once, believeing people on the internet were my virtual friends. I was simply acknowledging points made in response to my own. Was not supercilious at all.
I am sorry to have offended so many people but hope that if anyone has bothered to check my previous posts, will see I come on here to help and am genuinely upset at the way people have responded. I am sorry if I've offended anyone but if we could leave it there perhaps?I currently manage a Housing Benefit service and have been working in Housing / council tax benefit (as was) since 2001.

Fluffy your posts are spot on, i think this might be why some of us are really shocked. You do help other posters and it's always great to actually have someone like yourself on the board.fluffymovie wrote: »I was simply acknowledging points made in response to my own. Was not supercilious at all.

I agree with this post apart from ' your posts are spot on' I can only say they are 'normally 99.9% ' spot on.
This time. mmm
Hope this has got to you before the 'ignore list'

It's what's best for the child. If he goes into a room in shared house he will have to share a bed with his daughter. Is that OK? As he's 26 and the child 7 that'll go on for another 9 years till he can get a 1 bed flat and they can have a lounge and a bedroom to sleep in. She'll be 16 then and whenever staying over in Dad's room will have to share his bed. Don't think daughter will want to share a bed with Dad much past 8.
Otherwise there will be a reduced father-daughter relationship where they only see each other in a daytime on the weekend if both are available.
Why would he have to share a bed? Surely you would have a single bed and a space where a put you up could go...even in my sons box room that would be possible or even have bunk beds, or do what my brother did and have one of those bunks where you have a double bed on the bottom and a single bed on top.
There would be no need to share a bed at all.We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0
