Home Content Insurance

Hello
I signed up with Barclays for Home Content Insurance back in May 2011. Due to serious financial difficulties I am having to move back to the parents house ASAP. When I called Barclays today I was outraged to discover they wanted at least £26 in cancellation fees from me. Money I simply do not have! Therefore I cannot cancel yet and have to carry on paying for it
Does anyone have any suggestions on easing my way out of this b**!!!!?

It may not help but write them a letter appealing to their better side, send a copy of your bank statement in etc?I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Barclays home insurance are generally very low fees compared to the market. They charge nothing for mid term adjustments and £26 for cancellation is significantly below many who can charge £50+.
You agreed to the fee when you took the policy out and the only thing you can really do is hope for a gesture of goodwill but given the insurance isnt actually with Barclays and you're not going to continue being a customer of the insurance company they don't have much motivation to give you one.0
