Applying for Jobs - Exam Results Proof

Could someone please advise what i should do now? I feel like there is no point in me applying for jobs, as obviously i will have no proof of examinations results to take with me, so I will be turned down for any position straight away because of this. ...
I don't think you should get too hung up on this - you've got 20+ years of experience, which is surely going to be much more relevant than exams you passed years ago.
I'd apply for the jobs, and when you get to the interview, explain the situation.0 -
So your into that softy marking process where you get marks for your "working out" even if you get the answer wrong
http://www.ofqual.gov.uk/help-and-support/94-articles/264-getting-copies-of-exam-certificates There are only 5 bodies left and one is Wales and unless you lived in Wales I imagine you'd remember doing a welsh exam. You could simply email each of them with your name (at the time), date of birth, school and year of exam and see what they come back with.
Personally I doubt you will actually be asked to show them, I've been told dozens of times to produce them during the application process but with the exception of my professional qualifications I've never produced any.0 -

good choice, i didn't fancy staying around for an extra couple of hours.0 -
I personally think that the experience is more important then the exam results - I would go and say I cannot find them, but of course will get hold of certified copy it will just take a bit longer.
I did know a person who said they have a university degree while they never finished the course... and got the job!!
I think it would be good to have them though... I do have all mine in special file (well, the highest one, obviously you couldn't go further if you didn't have the original).0 -
You wouldn't think a handful of O Levels & CSEs gained in the early 80's are relevent but there is a very large accountancy firm that insist on seeing the certificates. I was told this very clearly before my interview.
Thankfully not many companies go to this extreme.0 -
i had to show all mine to agents when applying for jobs - though i only showed my degree and Accountancy qualification, maybe A levels - not down as far as GCSE's. Though i suppose if you have proven the higher ones, they don't doubt the lesser ones.0

The first year for GCSE's I think depended on where you lived in the UK. I was the last year of all O'level exams (& CSEs) in 1985 at my school in the East Midlands; in 1986 some of the subject exams were GCSE and in 1987 all of them had switched to GCSE.:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

I had to show certificates of qualifications for an NHS job recently. As the job spec asked for GCSE Maths and English along with other things, I had to show my 'o' level certificates. So don't assume that you will never need your certificates again.0

O levels? So they were years ago then? I can just imagine the NHS being a bit anal about that sort thing.
I have absolutely no idea where my O level and CSE certificates from 1979 are!0
