I've got one modern sewing machine that cost me £400 four years ago btw, and I never use it. I've got a 1974 Jones, a 1932 Singer treadle and my latest machine is the best, a 1958 Singer 320K that I bought for £10 out a charity shop last month..

Are you starting your own Sewing Machine museum ?

  • Well I took the plunge and bought the Argos one, had a faulty item to return so that left it a bit cheaper. Am raring to go now...... Is it easy to make curtains I notice some of you mentioned making them?
  • I bought my Argos sewing machine over a year ago and I can't fault it. Before, I had never even used a sewing machine but this one was so easy to use and I've learnt the basics. I went through a period of not using it but now I have a few projects line up. Having been using it all this week and it certainly is like riding a bike - you never forget!

One question to anyone who has this machine or has more experience with sewing machines in general - I'm making a patchwork quilt and am unsure whether the foot it came with is suitable or if I need a walking/even feed foot? I've bought the quilting needles already but I'm worried that if I buy a new foot it won't fit on to the machine! Would appreciate any help :)
