Im really hoping i can get some advice, i had 2 large barclaycard debts some years ago that i found hard to cope with £5300 and £7091. These debts were taken over by HFO and i received no contact since may 2007 so i stupidly chose to ignore. About 2 months ago i started receiving constant letters of the usual threatening nature and the debts have jumped to £8686 and £11617 ! I did not contact them based on reading peoples experiences on here . I then got a letter from Turnbull Rutherford solicitors setting out HFO's claim. i have now received a county court claim form dated 25 oct for £8601 which i presume to be the lower of the two debts. Can you please give me clear and concise advice on what to do and whether i can challenge the huge interest increase, plus what should i do about the larger debt before tbhis becomes a court claim too. many thanks
