PO don't have a clue and as expected entered prepaid parcel into system as normal. I wonder if the 2D barcode will track somewhere as it goes through the system. I will keep an eye on tracking information and see if it actually tracks somehow.

They were trialling a simple barcode label that was scanned at delivery (or possibly just when going out on delivery) for some high use customers a while ago, perhaps they're going to introduce a barcode for Paypal.
This is the system they use in the US, normal rate postage there when printed via Paypal has a barcode label, when delivery is made it scans back to Paypal (thus on items with funds held for 21 days they are automatically released and no high rate postage has to be paid).
That said the chances are it is just a glitch, can't imagine Royal Mail managing to be that proactive.

Oh wow, that sounds rather good.

No, its not the same as recorded. It starts with AA and is 9 characters in total. The link it send me to says enter your 13 character code and shows an example starting with AA.

well that wont scan on RMs delivery systems
  • Also I've just noticed that I had a "confirm reciept" next to an item I paid for yesterday.

As I have the item here in my hand, I just pressed the "confirm reciept" button on my Paypal screen.

And then you get this on the screen...

    Confirm merchandise received

Have you received and are satisfied with all the merchandise you ordered?

Sounds like it could be a barcode type situation only to fool potential scammer buyers? Looks similar to RM tracking but RM cannot scan. Buyer sees barcode and thinks it has tracked. They then do as Harvey has done and click 'confirm receipt' thus making it appear to the seller that it has tracked? Sounds a very simple idea which will work until people realise!
