You will have to read the terms of the Policy you bought. Basically, most insurances say you will get covered for cancellation for "redundancy that qualifies for payment under current redundancy legislation, cancellation of leave for British Forces, Police or government security staff, summoning to jury service or witness attandance in a court". If you just have a regular job, i.e. a plumber, and your boss says you can't go on holiday, I'm afraid you'll have to search very hard for an insurer to cover you!

Have a chat with Forces Financial, JBI and Towergate - Wilson they may be able to help or at least point you in the right direction.
