HELP!!! does anybody no an easy and cheap way of phoning home from austria?

In Germany (it should be similar in Austria), the easiest thing to do was to head to the centre station or part of town where you get internet cafes and immigrant populations. Should be lots of shops that sell scratch off phone cards there where you pay 10 euros or whatever value card you want, then phone a freephone number with that specific card passcode and you get vastly reduced international calls. I was in Bavaria just over the border and I was calling the UK at like...2p per minute.

A warning though, the rates are higher than the advertised rates on the card if you call from a public phone box (more like 10p per minute or so), rather than from a proper residential line.
