ps3, stop working

its a 60g one. when you turn it on it goes green for a sec then beeps then a red flashing light stays on. theres a game in what won't eject. rang sony and they said its no good, and if i pay £110 they will send a refrub one out and take the other away and send the game back (its fifa). should i do this with sony because if i go and buy another new one the £40 game will be still stuck in the broken one. help

You can eject the game by

Power off the PS3 on the main switch on the back of the console
Press and hold the Eject button
Turn on the main power switch
The PS3 LED will go green and the fan will spin at max speed
Wait a few seconds and press the eject button a couple of times, the disk should now eject

    tried it didn't work
  • Personally I wouldn't bother with the refurb from sony for £110 and I've heard of them offering to send the game disc back before, but not heard of anyone receiving it back:(

Best get some extra cash together and get yourself a brand spanking new slim:) Shop around and you may find a 160GB slim as a package with Fifa 12 for not much more than what sony are offering;) plus 12 months warranty and a machine thats more reliable than the old phat ps3's:)

I'm with Juicy on that one.

You should find the screws to undo it under the "rubber feet".

Even if you trash the case you are in no worse a position.

Sony did send the disc stuck in mine back to me...it was loose in an envelope but they did send it back.

I didn't pay for repairs, though, they repaired it under warranty.
