Holiday autos complaint advice pls

Options
Hiya

Am in the process of writing a letter to above company following some awful service from the above company.

Brief overview:

Phoned co as needed a hire car for a few days. They found me a little car, thru mainstream csr rental place based at local hotel. Booted up there in taxi to find that car rental no longer based there and had moved.

Called holiday auto and they said they didn't know. Apologised and said they would refund my money - free of charge. That made me laugh - as if I should pay for there mistake.

Got taxi home. Spent some time looking for another car. Found one. Took another taxi and got car. All was well.

Now, a few days ago I receive a letter from Holiday Autos apologising for the mistake blah blah. Nice letter however, the letter is addressed to a Ms Virginia Lee and this is not my name. Same initials but wrong names. My name is V**** L******

I am writing to complain about the whole thing but the mix up of names has really annoyed me and made me feel as if my custom isn't/ wasn't valued. Am I over-reacting to this? How would it make you feel if a company got your name wrong? And advise re: writing this letter would be gratefully received.

Thanks

You sure you gave them the right name - you couldnt have forgot it at all?

Lol, only joking! I wouldnt be impressed that they had got the name wrong but I wouldnt be losing sleep over it - I would be telling everyone what bad service etc I had had from them though.

I dont blame you for writing to complain but I wouldnt have thought that there is much to be achieved from doing so other than highlighting their poor service!

I'd say you were within your rights to ask for your taxi fares refunded (have you kept receipts?). To not know that their place doesn't exist somewhere is appaling!

Totally agree and that's why I have sat on the letter for a few days and not rushed into a reponse. I still feel angry about the carp service but the name thing has really bothered me. I don't wanna be a Virginia - no offence to any Virginias out there, it's just not me!

Nah didn't get taxi receipts, didn't really think about it at the time. Was too worried about getting to the 2nd car rental place before it shut!
