Can anybody explain to me what neuropsychology is?

Ok so some of you have probablly read my posts about the problems i'm having with my dd. Yesterday things got worse. She was held by 2 girls at school while a boy punched her in the tummy and banged her head into a metal pole. Not only did school not ring me when she ran to get help but they sent her to her next lesson where the same thugs were on there way to and they attacked her again.

(For those of you who arent aware my dd was physically abused as a child by her father quite seriously, she has sever behaviour problems, learning difficulties and emotional problems, she also has many other symptoms which indicate she could have a disorder of some sort, im awaiting a paediatrician appt and various other professionals have been/ are involved thanks to my persistence).

My dd is now at the stage she is thinking about harming herself so it will all be over for her. She is extrememly vulnerable but when at school puts on a front that can make her come across as cocky and confident (this is how the teachers see her) , she is far from it, this is her protectove defence mechanism to keep herself together, at home she will sob herself to sleep and is finding it very difficult to hold it all together. The ep report has identified she is functioning both learning wise and emotonally at age 7 (she is 13 in 2 weeks) but school refuse to put in anymore help than 1 hour literacy a day.

Anyway to cut a long story short I have been to school about this latest incident and as told the boy will be put in isolation as a punishment. Not good enough!!! I rang my pp worker who is helping me gather evidence for a statement and then the psychologist who has just started working with my dd, we went through everything and she agrees that the school are letting dd down and her levels are very worrying. Then we talked about dd and she asked me if she'd ever been referred for neuropsychology as she is presenting alot of symptoms to warrant it -she hasnt been referred for it before so the psychologist is going to speak to her manager about this. The thing is I havent a clue what it even is and was in such a mess i didnt ask.

My son was shaken as a baby by his wa**er of a father and i was concerned he'd done this to my dd too. She was to be scanned to check for this but she wouldnt go under the anaesthetic and they gave her the maximum they were allowed to give without posing her at risk (shes always had problems sleeping too) so she never got scanned. Is this neuropsychology something to do with this, is it because she may well have been shaken by him and its caused some minor brain injury which is why she is so behind or is neuropsychology something different? Could anyone explain to me what it is and what it involves?
