I had a look back on my account statements for the past 2 years and I discovered I was charged 4 times for unpaid DDs at a rate of £20 each. So after reading a lot of these threads I thought - why not! It works out at £85.64 including interest.

This morning I received a cheque for £85.64. How pleased am I! The accompanying letter says:In acknowledgment of your long standing relationship with Coventry Building Society, I have enclosed a cheque totalling £85.64, which represents a refund of charges and interest.
And they will not close my account in retaliation.0 -
Can I reclaim charges from Coventry Building Society or is it just banks? They charge way too much for bouncing a direct debit etc. and then wonder why the next month the same thing happens again because they have just compounded the problems by taking charges from my account!0

Out of interest, how much do the Coventry charge? I banked with them until very recently (left because there was no branch local and I like to be able to whine in person...) but my mom is still with them and is considering leaving HSBC to bank exclusively with the Coventry. With all of my dietary restrictions, I'm left with lipstick and water0

You can claim from them. Follow the Step by step guide in my signature.0 -
Hi there, Just wondering why there is no address available to reclaim bank charges from Coventry Building Society? Is this because you cant reclaim the charges from them? My mum has two to reclaim from, Halifax and Coventry BS. Any help is appreciated thanks.

Hello,
Excuse me if this has allready been discussed. But I am still up till today being charged £30 by my building society (The Coventry) for direct debits bouncing, I think over the past 4/5 years I have had this happen at least 20-30 times.
Do I have a case?
