eon tesco clubcard points

do you know that those penny pinching fat cats at eon stop giving you clubcard points if you move onto one of its cheaper tarriff deals. Dont remember this being expressly spelled out but i'm sure its in the small print

    Hi mitz169

It’s true that not all of our plans are eligible for Tesco Clubcard points.

We try to offer a range of tariffs and each has their own benefits. Online deals are generally the cheapest and don’t always earn the points, but the majority of our non-online plans do.

No small print, all the tariff info including the benefits is available on our website and all the comparison sites.

If you need any help deciding which tariff to go for, just let me know and I’ll be happy to help.

    Amanda :)

  • I'm on GoGreen, so definitely not one of the cheaper e.on tariffs, yet my online account has changed to say I'm not eligible for points any more, even though GoGreen still shows as an account you get 500 points p.a. per fuel.

    Morning madmoggies,

Just a bit of info for the GoGreen tariff.
    • Customers receive 500 Tesco Green Clubcard Points annually
    • The points are awarded for a year’s loyalty and added on the first statement produced after the anniversary of the Supply start date
    • One Tesco Green Clubcard point has the same value as a standard Clubcard point
    Hope this helps.

  • Thanks for your reply Helena.

Yes, I've been getting the 500 points per fuel per year for our previous house for ages and for electricity only for our current house where there is no gas supply.

This is something new. Last time I looked online at both accounts it was showing OK for Clubcard points but now it says that neither of our accounts are eligible.

If I log into my account and then click on "Tesco Clubcard" it says

    "Tesco Clubcard not available

We're sorry but your account is not eligible for Tesco Clubcard points"

The only possibly relevant correspondence we've had was a voucher from Clubcard saying we'd been in the scheme for a very long time and to be scanned at Tesco by the middle of October if we were still interested in getting Clubcard points.

I would understand if it was just for our old house as the direct debit has gone right down. Its a bit complicated but we moved and had a buyer for our old house and it should have been sold a few months ago. Then disaster struck when our neighbour accidentally set fire to our house with his BBQ so it's being renovated before we can find a new buyer. While this is happening we arranged with E.on to pay the minimum monthly direct debit.

As far as I'm aware we haven't broken any of the rules for getting Clubcard Points on our new house. Certainly we have not had any correspondence from E.on to say it's been stopped.

Anyway, I sent a message in via the E.on website yesterday so hopefully I'll find out soon what has happened.

Gosh I'm sorry to hear about the fire

    Are both houses on GoGreen?

It sounds like you have done the right thing by emailing in and asking what's going on. Because we know that you do get the green points.

If you need any help from me though, just ask it's no problem.

  • Thanks Helena. Yes, both houses are on GoGreen.

Meanwhile I'll try and find a Tesco store to swipe the voucher and see if that helps. (No local Tesco store where I live now!)
