Check Your Halifax CC Statements

I have just checked my Halifax Clarity Card statement and I have noticed that a 'late fee' of £12.00 has been added.

I make two payments per month and I knew that this was incorrect.

I contacted them by phone and it sounds as though this has been an issue and was removed from the account.

It might be worth checking your statements in case there has been a gremlin in their system - although why do 'gremlins' never seem to work in the customers favour? :-/

Are you sure they are not correct, making 2 payments a month rather one after you have received the statement could make a late payment scenario. If I paid my Cap1 card on 6th and 22nd neither of those payments would fall within the payment window and would result in a late fee.

    No.

Both payments were made within the deadline and they accepted the error and the 'late fee' will be repaid.

The 'new' computer system at Halifax seems to be creating problems - online information is not accurate often showing a balance of N/A and credit limit of NIL. Payments leave my Reward account and disappear for at least a day before appearing on my Halifax Credit card statement - None of these things happened before the recent(ish) update of the computer system.

Make sure you check your credit report too, ensuring they don't try to stick a late payment marker on it.

You never know what that useless company is going to try next.

This has always happened with mine - I make the payment on Day 1, it disappears from my Current Account on Day 2, then appears on my Credit Card account on Day 3.
    Nothing changed there for me.

Fingerbobs, is that a halifax credit card and a halifax account? Just out of interest.

    Good point.

I wasn't aware that they have updated their systems - however, I have now noticed that when I transfer money online from my Barclays account to my wifes Halifax account, the transaction is completed within seconds - whereas before, it used to take a couple of days.

It's a shame that a payment from a Halifax current account to their own CC accounts is not as quick!

    Edit to add.

The £12.00 'late payment fee' was removed from the account today.
