Saving Advice

Hi. I have just inherited £6500 which I wasn't expecting and would like advice on a suitable account in which to put. I have filled my Cash ISA allowance for this year so that is not an option. I intend using around £1500 immediately (gifts for family) leaving the rest until I decide how to use it, possibly home improvement or holiday or both. I would like the best interest rate I could get but would still need access, preferably in branch when I need it. Any advice would be appreciated
Thanks
Thanks

Sounds like you want an easy access savings acct, details of current best on the link at top of page.
But I would consider putting some away for the longer term and not spending 100% of it as you are currently planning. Open a pension if you don't have one, or consider putting some of it into your current pension for instance.0 -
Thanks atush.
Easy access saving account seems the likely option. I don't really intend spending all of it or not spending all of it and there is the problem. I am unsure of the best place to put it until I decide. I don't want to tie it up long term in case I need access to it however I don't want it hanging around earning very little while I decide. I have some emergency funds and my pension is covered for the moment. I was wondering if there were views on the better accounts or other alternative options
