Hi,
it may not sound like a lot, but I have 10k. It is just sitting in barclays normal savers account. I am not sure who to save with or what to do with it?
It is a loan form a business partner which will have to be paid back in a few years, rather than just spend on webstes and marketing which is what it is for, I would like to know if i can mkae 10k work better for me?
Any idea would be grestly appreciated it.
Many thanks

Do you pay tax? Have you filled your ISA? How much will you need day to day- next month- one year?
Even if you just put it in an easy acess acct, you would get 3% or more.0 -
As a suggestion kimberleytrev, you have an annual stocks and shares ISA allowance of £10,680. You could put your £10k into a Stocks and Shares ISA and buy blue chip stocks within the tax shelter that pay a hefty dividend yield, (e.g Tesco, Vodafone etc). You could buy £10000 worth of FTSE100 stocks with an average dividend yield of 5% - that's a return of £500 pa, which you can either reinvest into stock or leave as cash. FYI Traders Own offer a Stocks & Shares ISA, no fees, you simply pay £9 per trade for every stock you purchase in the ISA wrapper. Info here http://www.tradersown.co.uk/sharedea...wn_isa_54.html0

But you risk getting back less than what you paid in as there's no guarantees. As it's a loan, I would stick to cash to be safe and get 3%0

your business partner gives you 10k to invest in marketing/ websites? but your deciding to use the money differently?
i'm glad i'm not your business partner.0 -
My presumption, possibly incorrect, was that the OP does intend to use the money for this purpose but will be using it over time and not blowing the lot all at once.0

Thank you,
Yes, exactly that, the money is ther for when I use it wisely on marketing, therefore in the meantime to at least keep it in a high interest a/c would be better than leaving it in my a/c with Barclays.
If someone is willing to invest 10k, they obviously see the potential and trust me as a partner - don't bother posting silly comments, so annoying, as it stops people posting quetions in fear of silly replies like yours Darkpool.
