Buying Kindle Fire from USA

Hi guys

Going to states later this month, was going to buy a Kindle Fire for $199 as it's released when I'm out there.
What I need to know is, would everything still work OK for me in terms of the software and services once I return to the UK?

You'll need a UK charger, and the warranty may be US only. After you've added the import duty and VAT, will it be worth it?

You're going to have the problem that the Fire only uses the Amazon app store which, for the time being, is only available in the US; same with the Amazon cloud storage. Amazon will probably restrict use based on IP address/the location determined by your Amazon account for their services linked to the Fire.

Given that it's going to be a very popular tab at that price point, I assume that there will be Root for it fairly quickly and that there will probably be a way to get the Android market on it but there's no guarantee until the devs have a try.

Edit: if you don't care about any of the Amazon services then it should be fine, it's probably possible to sideload apps too
