Halifax Loan PPI CLaim - Help please

I sent off my completed PPI complaint questionnaire to Halifax on 30th August2011. I had a letter a few weeks later saying they had received and would respond within the statutory time (16 weeks?).
Yesterday evening I returned home to a new loan agreement issued by Halifax. It simply says the old agreement had PPI and the new agreement is to replace it without PPI. The monthly payment is approximately £40 less but the loan is to last another 33 months.
No other information came with it. I am now confused, as this seems like they agree I must have been mis-sold PPI in the first place (if they are now removing it) but what about the over payments of £40 per month for the last 5 years - shouldn't I be entitled to some sort of refund?
I just wondered if anybody else had experienced this, as I don't really want to sign up to a new loan agreement, particularly if they actually owe me a refund for the mis-sold PPI.
All help very gratefully received.

Hi there
Contact them and ask for an explanation on how they done this and ask about the refund, tell them you understood the PPI should be refunded to you, but you've received no details at all in repect of this.
They should be able to confirm over the telephone, good luck. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
