hi
hope not to upset anyone but the ESA rules are changing again
they are planning (in papers yesterday)that anyone who appeals against back to work will loose their benefit and will have to go onto jobseekers allowance, with appealls taking upto 9 months thats a real dig as the ATOS system uses a tick sheet method of assesment...
also they are planning to withdraw legal aid for disabled tribunal appeals, and they are planning to reduce the time for filling out the ESA50 form from 6 weeks to 4 weeks (normal 2nd post) that will delay it even further. For all those whom are really unfit to work i feel sorry for.
.those who just swing the lead and fake their illness i hope you get caught because it is your fault the disabled are now really suffering. some have even killed themselves

This story has been bouncing around for about a week, starting off by a piece in the times.
It was not confirmed, when the minister was questioned about it, though he didn't go as far as denying it.
It seems ministers are in the habit of not ruling anything out, nomatter how ridiculous.
Can you link to the source, to see if it gives a credible source for the story?
In some ways, I'd like for it to be true - and for JSA to be claimable by the long-term ill.
The current situation where you can be too ill to claim JSA, yet found fit by ESA is a nonsense.0 -
