  • If you book direct with Sol Melia they guarantee to have the lowest web prices. They will match any lower price you can find + 10%. See on their home page here, left hand column

If the hotel is in Spain - try http://www.go2spain.co.uk/

I found their £ price, pay now, was slightly cheaper than Sol Melia. But when I claimed Sol Melia they said it was due to the exchange rate as their price was in €'s. Also go2spain cancellation cover put the cost higher than SM's

IMHO I felt better paying Sol Melia direct at the end of the holiday. I have more bargaining power if any problems occurred during the holiday. Also being able to easily cancel if neccessary, an advantage.

the special offers are only valid for 3 months and I want to go in October - but I can't really complain about the price - it's just about getting it as cheap as possible - just trying to decide wether to pay extra for a sea view.

If its front line, then the extra for a sea view is worth it, however if its a sea view over the top or between of a couple of buildings. I wouldnt bother.

decided not to pay the extra - have been told that the sea view rooms are smaller and have a very small balcony - the side rooms have a bit of a sea view so I am taking my chance - £183 for 3 days half board is really good, and fits into my budget
