I always know by the time I get to the till how much it will cost, and often get a surprise, and so that goes into the 'spare money' pot.
I do a similar thing too! Or if my dd is with me we'll have a bet and see who can get closest to the total
It's not how far you fall - it's how high you bounce back.... :jHappiness is not a destination - it's a journey

its real freaky.. i dont add up anything but am able to get to the til and know the amount lol.. i dont know how i just know?!0

We always guess at the till too
we're both pretty good - both of us usually within £3 or £4 - Mr Daffs beats me most of the time - he always knows the time within about 15 mins too, doesn't matter if we're in the middle of nowhere and he doesn't have a watch.
It's a bit weird really :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
I'm rubbish at that game :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I only add up my basket when I have to spend over £40, say, to get lots of extra nectar points - I'm often reduced to buying an extra pot of manuka, for instance, something I know I'll use.
Lula, I can see what you're saying about the money from your aunt re. the sofa - and it *is* nice to be able to point to it and show her what you spent it on, its the basis of everything to have comfort and pleasure in the living room ....
Also with you on doing the odd wash during the week, so the weekend doesn't become household chores - love that!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Good morning to all,
I've been awake since 6 . Not a problem as long as I sleep through the night & thankfully I seem to be sleeping better again, I can live on 6 hours as long as it's uninterrupted, but 7 or 8 is better ( & requires less makeup in the morning so very MSE
)
DD1 arrived last night full of enthusiasm for the car boot sale she's doing today. She actually just wanted to borrow my clothes rail but I also gave her my most recent box of stuff to charitize which included some books, music & clothes as well as the 'bric a brac' (aka tat
). She said she'd give me whatever she made from it, but I'm just happy to be saved a trip to a charity shop & she needs the cash more than I, so everyone is happy
.
She'll be returning the rail later & it's taking all my strength not to text to ask how it's going & how much money she's made. She also kindly brought over 2 bags of washing :rotfl: as her machine is broken, but she does take it all away again to be dried so not too inconvenient.
We had considered going ice skating today but DD has homework, I have a wee bit of ironing to do & I really need to get my paperwork up to date & want to do a bit of cooking, we've not had soup for weeks
so now plan to stay local & maybe go out for a march a bit later.
Hopefully a NSD then
I've finally caught up with all the surveys cluttering up my inbox & also sent off scathing email to virgin media about their 'new look' email page.
It's appalling .
Due to their stupid banner ads across the top of the page ( yes, I've unsubscribed from all that I can but the rest stay :mad:) & the new set up of the page which I do not seem to be able to move, I can now only view my emails from half way down the page which is intensely irritating :mad::mad:.
I've reverted to the old page set up & made sure I told them exactly why & that if the new set up is to become standard then I will no longer be using them as my primary email address ... I have 3 others
.
And breeeeeeeeathe
Along with decluttering my home, wardrobe, paperwork & life in general, I need to declutter my correspondence.
Also hacked off with guides at the moment. Silly leader sent home a wad of forms (I hate forms) saying that I hadn't completed all the contact details when DD started 2 years ago.
Really ? I mean REALLY ?
So, how come she rings me on the home phone to ask if I can help out, emails me all the newsletters & consent forms & then texts me to ask me to read all the newsletters & consent forms  That sounds like far more contact methods than most people have for me.
And more breeeeeeathing
.

Yes indeed, much more fun that the hideous ones I used to do.
It seems that cutting back on home-job hours & losing a bit of income is preferable to spending all weekend in a chores nightmare :rotfl:
Oooh email from Quidco saying I'm getting £11.26 very soon :T
Just hope the £40 from Vodafone is equally forthcoming, my claim has now been accepted & I have my paperwork & indignantyness at the ready
Off to do something now, will report any achievements later ...

It's driving me nuts, it's so close, I reckon it's wearing camouflage feathers :rotfl:
Decided to do DD1s ironing too as it would have been churlish not too, also means I've used up & got rid of another big bag to pack it all in
Her car booting is going well, she sent a text a couple of hours ago to say that she'd already made over £100 :T
I've also cleared out DDs wardrobe & found 3 items that are too small & removed 12 empty hangers that were taking up valuable space.
DD took all the veggie peelings down to the compost bin so I'm off to wash up after soup making & lunch & will then go for a march along the canal to check out the boats
ETA : Just had a text from DD1 to say she's on her way, mad dash to clear the house & no walk now, will have to do that later ... or face Davina
