My wife has just called me at work - apparently the washing machine is playing up - in thet when she takes the clothes out they are still wringing wet. She has spun the last load 5 times and still the same problem.
Any ideas what I should be checking?
Thanks

Has she checked its actually spinning, the belt on the drum could have broken. Alternatively it machine might not be drining the water properly (check there is no water left in the drum) or if there is something particularly heavy (like a bath mat or towels) in there it might be preventing the machine from spinning at full speed as the machine will stop the spin if there is too much vibration.0

Sounds as though the brushes have gone ! So it won't actually turn at all.0

If the drum is turning ok the the motor and belt are ok.
Can you hear the pump trying to pump the water out?????
If you can then pump ok
Have you tried cleaning out the outlet water filter ?????
Its usually at the front of the machine at the bottom a little thing that you can open remove a filter clean out all fluff and other cr*p then replace
WAIT......dont take it off or undo it until you can deal with the water there could be several gallons (or litres !!)
This is usually all that is wrong good cheap fix
If you cant hear pump operating then pump has gone.
If you are a sensible DIYer then they easy to replace0 -
have you recently moved the washer? sometimes a kinked pipe could stop the machinbe draining properly.Never put off till tomorrow what you can do today!
Cos if you do it today and like it...You can do it again tomorrow..
