in Credit cards
my wifes credit rating apparently isn't that good whilst my own is 'excellent' can I take out a card and trnsfer the balance from her cards on to my new one?

I am not sure if you can "legitimately" do this - you would need to contact your credit card company.
But when i have done balance transfers on-line they have only ever asked for a credit card issuer and number, not the name of the account. Many people have exploited this to move debts between individuals.0 -
No problem at all - unless the particular card has a policy against it. Obviously the fraud risk is higher (for them).
Bear in mind the debt will become yours.
You say your rating is "excellent" whilst hers isn't that good. If you paid for a credit score, bear in mind that these are pretty meaningless. If you prefer her to carry the debt, then worth her applying for a new card first.0
