Subscribing to podcasts through itunes

I may be asking a very stupid question here. I subscribe to a weekly radio programme through itunes, and so far have had no trouble downloading and playing it.
However, I am going overseas for a month and consequently will not have access to my pc for that period. The pc and the router will be turned off for that period.
Will itunes automatically save my programmes until I return home or will I be missing out on 4 to 5 weeks of my favourite show?
Hoping to get an answer soon as I go next week!:)

I don't know if you can change your settings, but itunes does automatically stop subscriptions to podcasts if they are not downloaded for a certain number of weeks. It does give you a few weeks of not downloading them before it unsubscribes. Sorry can't be more specific.0

This should not be a problem
The podcatcher that I use (Ziepod) remebers what has been downloaded and will start downloading any newer podcasts when I return from holiday. I'm pretty sure that iTunes is the same.
If that doesn't work then you can always catch-up by manually downloading from the podcast web site. They normally keep archives of old shows.
From here:
Keep podcasts forever (or just for a day).
It’s easy to tell iTunes how long to keep podcasts in your library. When browsing the podcasts you’ve downloaded, you’ll see a Settings button at the bottom of the jukebox window. Click it, and iTunes will open your Podcast Settings window. See the “Episodes to keep:” drop-down menu? It lets you decide exactly how long to keep podcasts, helping you keep your library neat and tidy.

The BBC doesn't. As an example, the weekly Friday Night Comedy on Radio 4 - you have 7 days - if you don't download the latest episode in that time, you've missed it.
I haven't found any way of getting the missing episodes back.0 -
I have used Juice in the past (http://juicereceiver.sourceforge.net/) - as long as your computer is on while you are away it works great. Not sure if it would work with itunes though. I just drag and drop them onto my phone.0

You are right, I forgot about that
. According to this website all BBC podcasts are equal but some are more equal than others.

When you return, if all the missing episodes do not automatically download, on the podcast page of your itunes, right client on the main title of the podcast and click on a option that should say something like "show all available." this should then reveal all available episodes greyed out, but there will be a button on the right hand side of each episode saying "get." click that and they will download. Any that you have already listened to and dont need to download again you can then delete from that list.
If the podcast is one like Googler mentioned where they are taken down after 7 days, unfortunately you will have missed them.
Do you use an ipod touch? if you can get onto wifi while away you can search for the podcasts on the itunes store and manually download them to the device once they are available0 -
Thanks for all the input. It is an ipod classic, so has to be connected to a pc to transfer data.
The podcasts I want is The Archers Omnibus (very sad I know but I have been listening to this for :shhh: many years), from radio 4. Each omnibus is only available for a week, then it is lost.
I am going away for a calendar month and will not be leaving the pc on. As mentioned in my opening post, it and the router will be turned off completely.
I was just hoping that, having subscribed to the program on itunes, that it would automatically save them so that I could download all the episodes missed when I got home.
Wishful thinking I suppose.
I can't help thinking that my best bet will be to get my husband to take his little laptop and hope I can get free wi-fi in the hotels we are staying in. Oh well, c'est la vie.....0
