finding moving costs

Hi all just looking for some general advice,
We bought our own home 3 years ago now moving across 3 counties to do so. Sadly, since then we have had a variety of medical problems on both sides meaning we ran into a fair bit of financial difficulty and have been on a dmp now for 18 months which we have always payed very promptly but in the process of arranging have obviously acquired a few defaults and a ccj.
Just before the ccj came into place our 2 year fixed rate came to an end and we fixed for a further 5 years, sticking with Northern Rock
We have never been late with mortgage payments, however we have switched to interest only about 6 months ago to ease of the pressure and to allow us to try and save moving costs. The reason we wish to move is that my husband has been promoted. A good thing but he now has to travel into central london instead of the outskirts, and all of his pay rise has been taken up in train fares (£approx £320 in a 4 week month).
We are living in Ashford, Kent at the moment in a small 2 bed. I have been keeping an eye on rightmove, etc for a while now and it looks like we could buy a small 3 bed (have 2 young children) in the Medway area for the same price or even slightly less if we look hard enough. Meaning we could almost half my husbands daily 4hour commute so i could work more, and taking a huge chunk of the train fares too.
Thanks to the winds knocking down all of our garden fence and a variety of other emergencies that have a nack of coming up when you try to save, our saving are now at £1500, nowhere near enough to move. What are our options? And what are the chances of us getting any help whilst we are in the midst of this dmp?

I should have added our mortgage is approx £99k debts of approx £27k house now worth approx £128k. The temporary switch to interest only wasn't an unthoughtout whim either, my husband does have a good pension plan via work which will give a lump sum upon retirement (not for a few years yet but before mortgage ends)
We do intend to carry on trying to save towards costs, however unless we stay here for a few more years we are not going to get there on our own. Moving nearer to London would allow a lot more spare cash each month to throw at our debts and off our mortgage.hey there's no money but we couldn't be happier if we tried

What are your incomes? How much are you paying out on loan/mortgage per month?
How much are you managing to save per month?
Your main problem sounds like it's going to be paying all the fees associated with moving, estate agents and removals and the like, as it seems you're looking to go for something of a similar price to your existing home.
Have you thought of renting for a while in your newly chosen area? This might be cheaper per month, and would enable you to get some cash under your belt.Annual income twenty pounds, annual expenditure nineteen nineteen and six, result happiness.
