Pass rate of ESA medical

Does anyone have any figures as to what proportion of people who have an ESA medical assessment through ATOS actually pass it, i.e. get 15 or more points? With new descriptors recently introduced, has this had a bearing on the overall pass rate?

The latest report (released 25th October 2011) has the following headline figures
For all new ESA Claims from 27th October 2008 to 28th February 2011, the result of the initial WCA is as follows:
•Support Group – 7%
•Work Related Activity Group – 17%
•Fit for Work – 38%
•Claim closed before assessment complete – 36%
•Assessment still in progress – 2%
Differences from previous publications
These headline figures are very similar to those in the previous July 2011 publication – which included statistics on new claims up to the end of November 2010.
The Fit for Work rate has fallen from 39% to 38%, whereas the proportions in the Support Group and the Work Related Activity Group have remained steady.
You can read the report by clicking this link (opens into pdf.)

or going to here: http://research.dwp.gov.uk/asd/workingage/index.php?page=esa_wca and following the links
The 'pass rate' has remained roughly the same though if you read the links you may find the rate has changed for different health conditions/functions.0 -
on a recent goverment programme on the parliment channel, 70% of esa claiments have put in for appeal.so it shows you that the medicals provided by Atos are a waste of time.I'm going through my second appeal, where i was told to get a wheelchair and do a job sitting at a desk. What really annoys me, is if you apply for dla, they use the Atos medical.instead of going to your own doctor who knows your condition better. I want to get a job, but i'm in a lot of pain and having tests to see if they have given me a wrong diagnosis.0

The OP asked for substantiated figures, not hearsay.0 -

This is incorrect!
55% (about) could appeal, if they chose to.
However, a substantial fraction of those in the WRAG are not dissatisfied at their outcome, and think it was the right one.
Similarly, with those found fit for work.
(In some cases, these people may have gotten better since the date of the initial claim).
Of the 55% who could appeal, some in the WRAG are on the borderline, and if they appeal may fail and not be granted ESA at all.0
