router disconecting

My old router gave up the ghost last week up to then we had never had a problem getting on line and staying on line ,the one we are now useing is a netgear and is fine untill someone phones my land line then i get disconected ,i have changed the router wire and fitted a new filter and still it happens ,any ideas please.

Do you lose your internet connection or your connection to your router? Are you connecting wirelessly to your router? Do you have a cordless phone?

If you are losing your wifi connection to the router, and you have a cordless phone, then try changing the channel on the router to 1, 6 or 11.

i lose internet connection untill the phone call is over,and yes im connecting wirelessly and yes its a cordless phone ....i have unpluged the phone and phoned my landline and still get disconected without the phone been plugged in ....its bugging the hell out of me now ...new filter splitter direct in to the phone socket ...new wires to router ..i dont know what else to try.

I know that you've changed the filter, but it sounds like a filter fault to me.

sure sign of a line fault - probably a high resistance (HiRes) fault. Get on to your service provider
