Hi, son was thinking of changing his flat and moving to Don Street through Liberty Living. They only seem to charge £89 a week (shared shower room etc) compared to £123 (at present place)
Does anyone know these Halls? Are they OK? Any downsides? Are they usually always first year Uni students?
Thanks.

I've no personal experience with Liberty Living, but am very wary of such organisations (including Unite). I suspect (and I could be wrong) they make their money adding on other fees e.g. for internet, etc, so this would be worth double checking.
I stayed at Hunter Court (Cooper Court is a cheaper option next door), which was very reasonably priced and is actually on campus (just behind the IT building and adjacent to the psychology building). Rooms tend to go very quickly, though!
I know findign accommodation in Aberdeen can be a right pain, so definitely take a closer look at Liberty Living....would it be possible to speak to students who are renting there now to find out their experiences? He could also try going through Aberdeen Uni - am sure they have a department which deals with accommodation for students0 -
Hi Maggie, I went to Aberdeen Uni a few years ago and walked past these a few times whilst walking around the park.
I actually was in one a couple of times and to me as with other accomodation in halls they seemed basic but that was the same as the other halls I was in. They are also self catered and can sometimes have older year students living in them. The person I was visiting was into his 2-3rd year I think.
Has he tried the main Halls of Residences first up at Hillhead/ Crombie and Johnson? They do the main halls which is basically a room and you get the meals done for you at the main cafeteria or there are similar flats like those in Don Street where you have 3-6 rooms sharing a kitchen and toilet facilities.
Pretty much the pictures on the website seem to reflect that, even if they are glammed up a little.

The ones done by Unite (King Street & Mealmarkert) where much nicer in my opinion and more modern but I have no idea how much they cost.maggiesoop wrote: »Hi, son was thinking of changing his flat and moving to Don Street through Liberty Living.
