Afternoon Tea in London

Can anyone suggest which of the posh hotels in Central London I could book afternoon tea for this Saturday for 3 or 4 and how much it would be?

I know it'll be £30 or £40 each, I don't mind, but would like some direction as to where's nicest/ [STRIKE]cheapest[/STRIKE] least expensive!

I went to the Savoy a few years ago which was lovely...

The Landmark Hotel next to Marylebone Station is lovely for afternoon tea as the Winter Garden where they serve it is spectacular. There's a picture here. It's indoors, but looks like outdoors. There are details on the website for tea - aroud £40 I think.

They do a fantastic Sunday Brunch. It's £80 a head (I know!) but have a look at what you can have! Limitless champagne and as many visits to the buffet as you want. Have a look at the list of what's available. You do need to book however.

If it is for women I suggest The Berkley "pret a portea" tea. All the items are fashion themed. It is also a nice relaxed setting (unlike the Ritz which was a bit stuffy)

Thank you. :) No not for women, we're male students, and £80 isn't going to happen I'm afraid! Besides limitless champagne in a place like that WOULD result in us being thrown out after a couple of hours for being loutish, by their standards! :rotfl:

Me n my partner had Afternoon Tea at Harrods, think we went to the Georgian Restuarant (we are in our early twenties) It was really nice, a guy playing piano in the middle of the tea room and my partner said the beer was good with his scones haha. Also we didnt book, we just turned up and got seated straight away, was around £30 each from what I can remember

A few weeks ago we went to The Ritz in Piccadilly couldnt fault it £42 a head excellent service food everything obviously suited and booted stay as long as you want eat as much as you want and drink as much tea as you want. However i do know you have to book quite abit in advance due to demand but really is worth it. The jewelery cases in the Foyer with some rather eye watering prices are worth a look as is the Tariff for £500 a night with breakfast lobbed in. (oh and Champagne at tea a mere £19 a glass sir)

I can vouch for the landmark tea too. Lovely.

  • My OH and I went to the Strand Palace Hotel for afternoon tea for my birthday a couple of years ago. It's right on the Strand (as the name suggests) so a good central location, and the afternoon tea is good and cheap at about £13 each.

If you are travelling into London by train that day, you can use your train tickets to get a 2-4-1 deal at the Podium Restaurant at the Hilton in Park Lane with the coupon below
